Ops Material Manager

About the role

The Material Operations Manager will lead internal material flow, scheduling and logistics within an Eaton manufacturing facility. The role ensures tight adherence to the Master Production Schedule generated through the SIOP process and drives continuous improvement across material handling activities.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule short‑term production based on S&OE and the network’s Master Production Schedule.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and lean material flow practices.
• Oversee internal receipts, storage, distribution, transportation and overall logistics for the site.
• Administer indirect and MRO purchasing in line with Eaton policies.
• Monitor execution of production schedules, coordinate labor on the factory floor and escalate material shortages to the COE and network teams.
• Drive forecast attainment, execute shipment schedules aligned with customer priority dates, and meet on‑time delivery and freight targets.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using tools such as MMA, OPA, visual management, standard work and value‑stream mapping.
• Maintain plant data health, including routings, WMS, part movements and production scheduling information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of experience in materials, operations or supply‑chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• At least three years of people‑management experience.
• Strong knowledge of plant manufacturing processes, value streams and lean principles.
• APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
