Engineering Systems Engineer

About the role

The Engineering Systems Engineer is the hands‑on technical operator responsible for the day‑to‑day health, governance, and evolution of the engineering platform. Working as an individual contributor, you will own Azure DevOps, LaunchDarkly, Flyway, and AI‑assisted development tools, ensuring they remain reliable, secure, and continuously improved for all engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Azure DevOps across the organization: manage projects, pipelines, repositories, boards, permissions, and access reviews.
• Monitor platform health, usage patterns, and adoption metrics to detect configuration drift and under‑utilized features.
• Serve as escalation point for Azure DevOps incidents, coordinating with Microsoft support when needed.
• Govern LaunchDarkly feature‑flag lifecycle: configure projects, environments, SDKs, and enforce naming and targeting policies.
• Maintain Flyway database migration standards and ensure consistent migration processes.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate analysis, generate automation scripts, and produce up‑to‑date documentation.
• Identify and close adoption gaps, automate manual administration tasks, and drive continuous platform improvement.

• Proactive platform operator with a strong focus on reliability and automation.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to drive platform adoption.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted workflows to enhance productivity.
