About the role
The Website Support Specialist ensures the firm’s public‑facing websites, platforms, and web applications remain secure, up‑to‑date, and reliable. The role works through a ticket‑based support model, performing proactive scans, vulnerability remediation, and clear communication with non‑technical stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Apply regular updates to WordPress hosting, CMS core, plugins, themes, and server‑side components.
- Monitor sites for vulnerabilities, malware, and security advisories, and remediate issues promptly.
- Administer WordPress and other CMS platforms, managing users, roles, plugins, and themes while troubleshooting errors.
- Maintain backups, test changes in staging, and execute reliable restore and rollback procedures.
- Manage domain registrations, renewals, transfers, and configure DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Issue, renew, and install SSL/TLS certificates and harden hosting environments with access controls and WAF rules.
- Support basic third‑party integrations such as web forms, CRM, marketing tools, chat, lead‑gen, analytics, and APIs.
- Configure and maintain analytics (GA4, Search Console, tag management) and produce regular traffic reports.
Required profile
- Demonstrated fundamentals in DNS and domain management.
- Familiarity with SSL/TLS, backups, and web‑security best practices.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
- Experience managing a ticket queue independently while collaborating with a team.
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 1‑3 years of web support, administration, or operations experience, preferably with WordPress.
Required skills
- WordPress administration (core, plugin, theme updates and security).
- DNS management and domain‑registration processes.
- SSL/TLS certificate issuance, renewal, and installation.
- Backup creation, testing, and restoration procedures.
- Basic HTML/CSS and general troubleshooting.
- Web hosting environments (managed hosting, cPanel/Plesk, Linux basics).
- Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and tag‑management tools.
- Experience with CDN/WAF solutions (e.g., Cloudflare) and security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri).
