Senior Medicaid Case Manager

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organized Senior Medicaid Case Manager to guide seniors and their families through the complex Medicaid application process. The role combines deep empathy with strong analytical abilities to ensure each application is complete, accurate, and compliant with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the financial documentation process managed by the support team, reviewing 3‑5 years of bank statements, asset disclosures, tax returns, and legal documents.
• Maintain ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the entire application package before submission.
• Conduct sensitive interviews with seniors and families to understand care needs and financial situations, explaining complex rules in simple terms.
• Provide a calm, reassuring presence for seniors who may be confused, stressed, or experiencing cognitive decline.
• Act as the primary point of contact between clients, financial institutions, legal representatives, and the Medicaid office to resolve queries and provide additional information.

Required profile

• Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with genuine warmth and patience for the elderly.
• 2+ years of experience in case management, social work, elder law, or medical billing; direct experience with long‑term care Medicaid applications preferred.
• Strong critical thinking to navigate bureaucratic roadblocks and complex asset structures.
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to simplify dense legal/financial jargon.
