Job description

About the role

The Plant Finance Analyst acts as a financial business partner to Plant Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Engineering and Cost Accounting. The role analyses inventory, standard costs, manufacturing variances, Cost of Non-Conformance and working-capital performance to identify operational and financial risks, support sound business decisions and drive corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze raw materials, work in process, finished goods, days on hand, inventory receipts, consumption, aging and excess/obsolete inventory, and the operational drivers behind inventory investment, customer service, cash flow and working capital.
  • Escalate emerging inventory risks before they cause excess stock, shortages, service disruption or E&O exposure.
  • Analyze aged WIP and open work orders, partner with Operations, Quality and Engineering on production bottlenecks, quality holds, rework loops and incomplete work orders, and support physical validations.
  • Analyze Cost of Non-Conformance (scrap, rework, premium freight, warranty, reactive maintenance) and support root-cause corrective actions.
  • Support the financial review of suspect, nonconforming and scrap material, monitor value, aging, ownership, disposition status, ERP transactions and supplier recovery, and collaborate with the Material Review Board.
  • Review E&O and slow-moving inventory reports, challenge demand and recovery assumptions, validate reserve treatment and coordinate recovery, consumption, return, rework, sale or disposition.
  • Support the Cost Accounting Center of Excellence by validating material, labor, routing, bill of materials, burden rates, sourcing, product mix and process assumptions, and flagging changes needing costing review.
  • Maintain action tracking for significant inventory, costing and variance issues with one accountable owner, a due date, a measurable outcome and a review cadence.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a related field; professional certification or advanced finance education preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years in a related field; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish).
  • Experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, plant finance, inventory accounting or manufacturing finance; ERP and financial reporting tools experience preferred.

Required skills

  • Standard costing and manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting and working-capital analysis.
  • Variance and root-cause analysis, Cost of Non-Conformance analysis, financial planning, forecasting and profit plan support.
  • Office 365, including advanced Excel; Power BI or similar dashboards preferred.
  • Financial controls, management reporting, business partnering, analytical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
