Senior Buyer COE

About the role

Eaton’s Supply Chain Management Center of Excellence in Santo Domingo is looking for a Senior Buyer to support manufacturing plants and other locations across the Americas. The role focuses on operational procurement, ensuring material availability, supplier stability, and compliance with corporate purchasing policies.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials in line with plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM).
• Generate purchase orders based on demand requirements and coordinate with network schedulers.
• Monitor material requirements, process requisitions, and issue POs to suppliers.
• Manage order exceptions (postponement, anticipation, cancellation) and handle internal escalations.
• Resolve discrepancies with operations and address supplier issues such as delivery delays, claims, and quality problems.
• Collaborate with logistics partners and suppliers to ensure delivery according to Incoterms.
• Evaluate supplier performance (SOTD) and work with category managers on corrective actions.
• Handle supplier invoices, resolve holds, and support timely payments.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with inventory analysts and schedulers.
• Coordinate RMA processes with Supplier Quality and manage reverse logistics.
• Support engineering and product managers during phase‑in/out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, purchasing regulations, and inventory management.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams, including logistics, quality, and engineering.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to manage escalations.

Required skills

• Purchase order creation and management.

• Familiarity with digital SCM tools and data maintenance.
