Remote Support Engineer

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Remote Support Engineer to provide advanced technical assistance for its industrial automation portfolio. The role blends remote troubleshooting with occasional on‑site collaboration, supporting a wide range of sensing, control, and communication products.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve complex issues that first‑line support cannot isolate, covering hardware, software, and network components.
• Document troubleshooting steps, capture resolutions in service management systems, and communicate findings to engineering and product teams.
• Develop technical notes, knowledge articles, and training materials to improve customer self‑service and reduce support effort.
• Participate in after‑hours and weekend support rotations, providing on‑call coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent technical experience).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience supporting industrial automation, sensors, RFID, code readers, PLCs, and networking technologies.

Required skills

• Photoelectric, proximity, and vision sensors; RFID systems; industrial code readers and scanners.
• Basic Logix PLC programming and familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives, Logix controllers, and motor starters.
• Industrial communication protocols: EtherNet/IP, IO‑Link, DeviceNet, and related networking.
• Troubleshooting of encoders, condition‑monitoring solutions, and industrial networking infrastructures.
