Project Manager – HV Substations Engineer

About the role

The HV Substations Engineer leads primary engineering design for high‑voltage substation projects, from concept through detailed deliverables, and works closely with sales to propose tailored technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review project design criteria, prioritize tasks and develop one‑line and auxiliary diagrams for modernization, extensions, upgrades and new substations.
• Perform grounding, cable ampacity, lightning, illumination and station auxiliary load calculations and integrate results into the overall design.
• Prepare general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings, BOMs and select main equipment such as transformers, breakers and disconnectors.
• Review and approve manufacturer documentation, ensuring compatibility with project requirements.
• Participate in meetings with providers and customers during the execution phase to obtain electromechanical engineering approvals.

Required profile

• Electrical or electromechanical engineer with 5+ years of experience in primary design for high‑voltage substations (AIS technology).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation or Revit and strong knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Conversational English and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
