Project Lead – Capital Projects (Mining)

About the role

Barrick is seeking a Project Lead to join its Capital Projects team. The role will drive planning, execution, monitoring and closure of projects within the Growth and Replacement Assets portfolio, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and budget targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle for assigned capital projects, from planning through commissioning and handover.
• Serve as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, regulatory bodies and community representatives.
• Develop and maintain integrated project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, resource plans and risk registers.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical, contractual, safety and quality requirements.
• Facilitate decision‑making meetings, manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress transparently.
• Capture lessons learned and best practices during project closure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of construction and project management experience in the mining industry.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience with project controls, financial modeling and profitability analysis is a plus.
