Programador(a) de Proyectos – Pueblo Viejo

About the role

We are looking for a Project Scheduler to join Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo mining project in the Dominican Republic. The professional will ensure that all project milestones and deliverables are met on time by planning, monitoring and controlling project schedules, identifying critical paths and proactively mitigating delays.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Project Breakdown Structure (PBS) and System Breakdown Structure (SBS) to ensure robust planning.
• Create structured schedules based on Area Breakdown Structure (ABS), load and level resources, and produce Level‑01 schedules when required, using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Generate alternative construction scenarios, forecast completion dates and incorporate scope changes, design revisions and field progress to keep an up‑to‑date baseline.
• Prepare comprehensive and executive reports on schedule status, including critical‑path analysis, earned‑value metrics and deviation summaries.
• Monitor construction performance indices, identify risks, bottlenecks and delays, and recommend recovery plans and mitigation strategies.
• Plan short‑term production using the Last Planner System and the Three‑Week Look‑Ahead (3WLA) methodology.
• Produce accurate project tracking and payment status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (intermediate to advanced).
• 5‑10 years of experience in project planning, scheduling or control, preferably in the mining industry.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Pueblo Viejo, Dominican Republic.
