Production Manager

About the role

MPG is seeking a Production Manager to lead and coordinate a production team and manufacturing/process engineers across its RF component facilities. The role ensures on‑time delivery, cost control, quality, safety and compliance with aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Establish operational standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on‑time delivery of assigned product groups.
• Lead and develop the production supervisor and process/manufacturing engineer.
• Direct and support all manufacturing lean initiatives.
• Contribute to short‑ and long‑term planning using GDP, project management and Kaizen events.
• Oversee assembly and test operations for sub‑assemblies and finished products.
• Support the quality assurance department and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO requirements.
• Develop and promote safety initiatives and maintain positive employee relations.
• Collaborate with finance to address cost variations and manage profit and loss for assigned departments.
• Coordinate with materials planning to ensure continuous workflow and allocate material, labor and equipment resources.
• Interface with customers to provide accurate and timely status updates.
• Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion and other personnel decisions.

Required profile

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Proven experience developing employees in leadership and technical roles.
• Technical expertise in lean manufacturing, Kaizen, process improvement, materials management and production scheduling.
• Experience creating and managing departmental budgets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experienced user of ERP systems such as IFS, Peoplesoft, Macola or SAP.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse disciplines in a dynamic environment.
