MRO Buyer

About the role

The MRO Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring the goods and services required to keep the organisation running smoothly. This includes both indirect items such as office supplies, computers, travel and maintenance, as well as direct items needed for manufacturing, production or construction.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source products and services for indirect and direct operations.
• Select suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contracts.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Administer supplier contracts and monitor performance.
• Maintain records of supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support strategic sourcing initiatives when required.

Required profile

• Advanced education providing broad theoretical knowledge of procurement.
• Work is closely supervised; problems are generally routine.
• Ability to explain policies and practices related to the purchasing function.
