Movement Operations Associate (Beneficiary-Facing Activities)

About the role

The Movement Operations Associate supports beneficiary‑facing activities within IOM’s movement operations, ensuring safe and dignified travel for migrants and refugees at various stages of resettlement, relocation and humanitarian initiatives. The role works closely with multiple IOM units, external partners and service providers to coordinate logistics and assistance for vulnerable individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field support activities at airports, seaports, transit centres and other facilities to ensure safe and appropriate beneficiary movements.
• Arrange transportation, food and essential items for beneficiaries, paying special attention to individuals with special needs.
• Assist with pre‑departure formalities, including travel documents, exit permits and visa application support.
• Enter and update beneficiary data in IOM systems and report any issues promptly.
• Provide interpretation, selection‑mission support and guidance to junior staff as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma with five years relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies or related field with three years relevant experience.
• Previous experience in movement operations, transportation management or resettlement programmes, including communication with beneficiaries.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with IOM movement‑operations databases and systems such as iGATOR, MiMOSA, SAR and Amadeus.
