Mortgage Loan Processor (Remote)

About the role

Emapta is recruiting a Loan Opener / Junior Loan Processor for a US mortgage lender, working remotely from home. The role covers accurate mortgage file setup, documentation and processing coordination, helping borrowers move closer to homeownership. It is an indefinite-term type contract, day shift Monday to Friday (8:00 AM-5:00 PM EST), weekends off.

Key responsibilities

• Open and set up new loan files in Encompass, entering and verifying borrower, property and loan information.
• Review loan applications, disclosures and supporting documents, and collect, organise and upload borrower documents such as income, asset, employment and insurance records.
• Follow up with borrowers, loan officers and other parties to obtain outstanding documents and resolve loan conditions.
• Order and track credit reports, appraisals, title services and other third-party services.
• Maintain loan notes and file statuses, monitor the loan pipeline and meet internal deadlines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Preferred: 1 to 3 years of experience in mortgage lending, loan processing, loan opening or a related administrative role.
• Willingness to learn mortgage processing procedures and compliance requirements.
• Advanced English at C1 level or equivalent, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Encompass loan origination software is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Organised, detail-oriented, able to handle several loan files at once.
