Material Handler I

About the role

Join STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies as a Material Handler I and play a vital part in moving and processing customer products safely and efficiently. This physically demanding role supports the company’s contract sterilization services for medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and other critical industries.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer products from raw storage to processing areas and load/unload finished goods.
• Prepare shipments and place products in designated locations according to specifications.
• Review product documentation and customer requirements to ensure correct handling.
• Monitor equipment used for product movement, perform minor repairs, and report major issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and support inventory control activities.
• Document processing activities, apply corrective actions, and use monitoring devices as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately two years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Strong hearing ability to detect alarms and signals.

Required skills

• Basic computer system skills.
• Fundamental math abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Effective written and verbal communication.
