Maintenance Technician – Shift B (Tech 3)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Tech 3) works the B shift (3 PM‑11 PM) in our San Cristóbal facility, performing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on a wide range of medical‑device production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance routines on production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Detect equipment failures, execute corrective actions, and document incidents through impact assessment reports, EWOs, ENCRs, and OOTs.
• Follow equipment checklists, SOPs, and work instructions, recording traceable data in device history records and the Maximo system.
• Apply process knowledge to devise equipment changes, assess new machinery, and establish preventive maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with other departments to troubleshoot issues and recommend maintenance solutions that keep production on schedule.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and completed trade school program in electrical, mechanical or electronics with internship.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with electrical, mechanical, lubrication, pneumatic, boiler or autoclave equipment.
• Familiarity with Keifel machines (preferred) and ultrasonic welding processes.

Required skills

• Proficient with MS Office and Maximo for maintenance tracking.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and automatic access‑control systems.
• Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in English.
• Understanding of environmental health & safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices for clean‑room medical device production.
• Strong independent work ethic with minimal supervision.
