Maintenance Technician (Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC)

About the role

This is a developing, individual contributor support role for a maintenance technician in the Dominican Republic. The technician performs repairs and maintenance across two or more skilled areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical work and vehicle servicing, working under minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Handle corrective work orders (from the Sales Force system) and routine preventive work orders to keep building systems running.
• Inspect core building systems to detect failures and interruptions.
• Perform scheduled and emergency preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and sound systems, and repair motors, pumps, small engines, cabinets, drywall, flooring, locks and hardware.
• Install, maintain and repair interior and exterior finish woodwork, flooring, concrete, masonry, roofing and windows.
• Manage tools, portable machines and general construction equipment, and estimate time and material costs.
• Use Corrigo work order tracking software and church time entry software, and keep inventory of supplies.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards and accidents, and handle a fleet vehicle.

Required profile

• 2 years of combined related experience, or progress toward or completion of a post-secondary degree, or an industry-recognized certification.
• Strong working knowledge of two or more skilled areas (plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical).
• Valid driver's license and ability to climb ladders, stairs and work at height.
• Preferred: a relevant university degree, directly related experience and industry certifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, cellphones and tablets, and MS Office applications.
• Able to read and follow safety policies and technical manuals, and to write routine reports.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals and products.
