LLM Engineer (Remote, Punta Cana)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of its work. As LLM Engineer, you own and ship the internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role: you will not train models but build production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented roadmap of automation workflows into shipped, working systems. The position is remote and open to Latin America and South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that cut manual hours across the design and development production process.
• Build automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and the internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
