About the role

The Cloud Platform Project Leader will be responsible for the end‑to‑end administration of container, database, data‑lake, compute, storage and networking services hosted in the cloud. The role supports incident resolution, automates environment provisioning and advises development teams on secure cloud operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer cloud platforms, including operating systems, compute resources, networking, containers and databases, ensuring configuration compliance, patching and performance monitoring.
• Manage backup, monitoring and resilience solutions for cloud services, configuring backup windows, verifying backups and conducting recovery tests.
• Create and maintain access controls in line with the bank’s identity and access policies.
• Implement configuration requests from agile teams while adhering to cloud security, continuity and governance guidelines.
• Proactively resolve performance or continuity issues and escalate incidents to cloud service providers as required.
• Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and optimise resource consumption and costs.
• Automate and standardise environment provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with built‑in security and operational controls.
• Act as the primary point of contact for cloud platform queries and guide development teams on best practices and landing‑zone usage.

• Ability to work closely with agile development teams and provide clear guidance on cloud standards.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in managing cloud‑based services in a regulated environment.
