About the role

Palladium is seeking a Resident Engineer to supervise the execution of structural works on a high‑profile tourism‑residential project in Santo Domingo. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Engineer will be on‑site full time, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor field execution of the assigned construction phase with permanent presence on site.
• Verify geometry, reinforcement and formwork before authorising each concrete pour.
• Control concrete and steel testing and coordinate special inspections.
• Supervise shoring, reinforcement and structural monitoring activities when required.
• Validate that works follow structural drawings, reinforcement details and specifications.
• Approve material test results and manage non‑conformities within the scope.
• Ensure safety measures are applied for work at height.
• Perform field measurements to support the contractor’s monthly certification.
• Technically certify progress of the assigned phase.
• Report progress, incidents and identified risks during execution.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil Engineering, specialization in Structures.
• Minimum 5 years experience supervising structural works in building construction.
• Specific experience with reinforced concrete structures and high‑rise buildings.
• Experience in demolition, shoring, reinforcement and monitoring of existing structures.
• Experience in hotel or residential projects is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of concrete and steel structures.
• Ability to interpret drawings and perform structural monitoring.
• Detail‑oriented, safety‑focused and capable of autonomous decision‑making on site.
• English proficiency is valued for handling international specifications.
