HR Director – Pre‑opening Luxury Resort in Cap Cana

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead the human resources function for the pre‑opening phase of a new 115‑room all‑inclusive luxury resort in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. The role will shape the HR strategy, build a high‑performing team, and embed a strong culture aligned with international hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HR plan for both pre‑opening and operational phases.
• Design organizational structure, staffing plans, budgets and HR processes.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, hiring and onboarding of all teams.
• Implement internal communication, culture programs and HR policies.
• Ensure compliance with local labor legislation and corporate policies.
• Manage labor relations, employee climate, engagement, wellbeing and retention.
• Develop training and career development programs for staff.
• Advise executive leadership and department heads on people matters.
• Establish HR metrics and monitor results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of HR experience in the hospitality industry.
• Proven leadership experience in pre‑opening projects.
• Background in luxury, all‑inclusive resort operations.
• Strong knowledge of Dominican labor law, employee relations and organizational development.
• Advanced English and fluent Spanish.
• Demonstrated strategic vision, organizational skills and high confidentiality.
