About the role

The company is seeking a Local Purchasing Specialist for Transportation to manage and execute the global strategy for heavy and light fleet maintenance services. The role focuses on cost optimization, quality, innovation, and supplier performance at an international level.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, develop and negotiate with national and international strategic suppliers to obtain the best price, quality, availability and service level.
• Design and implement cost‑optimization initiatives based on spend analysis, opportunity identification and strategic negotiations, ensuring sustainable savings without compromising quality or operational continuity.
• Define, implement and monitor key performance indicators such as savings, contractual compliance, supplier performance and service levels using KPIs, dashboards and analysis tools.
• Participate in category sourcing planning to ensure availability of services, spare parts and necessary resources while maintaining logistical efficiency and inventory management.
• Coordinate with local Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations teams to align global strategies with local operational needs.
• Promote standardization and homologation of products, services and suppliers to reduce complexity, achieve economies of scale and optimize costs.
• Analyze market trends and identify new technologies, solutions and suppliers to improve category efficiency.
• Prepare management reports on costs, savings, supplier performance, contract compliance and purchasing plans.
• Analyze category and supply‑chain processes to identify improvement opportunities in cost, time, logistics efficiency and productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Management, preferably managing categories related to fleet maintenance and spare parts.
