Engineering Superintendent – Water Management Project

About the role

Lead the engineering development of the Pueblo Viejo Integrated Water Management Project, ensuring alignment across technical disciplines, internal stakeholders, the EPCM contractor and specialized consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of engineering activities across PFS, Feasibility, FEED and Detailed Engineering stages.
• Establish and control the Project Design Basis, integrating water and chemical balances, water quality, operating scenarios and plant reuse needs.
• Coordinate technical inputs from EPCM contractor, consultants, laboratories and vendors to maintain a single approved technical basis.
• Evaluate and select water treatment alternatives, including pretreatment, UF/RO and brine management strategies.
• Plan and lead design reviews, HAZOP/LOPA, constructability and operability reviews, ensuring closure of actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental) with a Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 5+ years in industrial water management and reverse osmosis projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing EPC/EPCM contractors from an Owner’s perspective.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Industrial reverse osmosis (RO) plant design and commissioning.
• Ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF) technologies.
• Water balance modeling, water chemistry and hydraulic analysis.
• P&ID development and HAZOP/LOPA facilitation.
• Experience with water reuse, sludge and concentrate management.
