Engineering Lead – Credit Risk

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Engineering Lead to head the team that integrates Kiwi’s credit‑risk capabilities into our lending platform. The role combines technical leadership with active contribution to design, implementation and production support of critical risk services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Credit Risk Engineering team, set technical direction, plan deliveries, mentor engineers and review code while staying hands‑on for critical tasks.
• Design, build and operate backend services and APIs that embed risk models into Kiwi’s lending products.
• Improve reliability of credit decision flows, handling latency, timeouts, failure recovery, observability and incident response.
• Partner with Credit Risk and Data Science to integrate machine‑learning models, automate deployments, manage versioning, testing, monitoring and rollback.
• Address technical debt, enhance architecture and maintainability of risk services while delivering new capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineers while remaining hands‑on with system design, implementation and production support.
• Strong backend engineering background with deep knowledge of latency, retries, partial failures and observability.
• Hands‑on MLOps experience in production, including model deployment, versioning, monitoring and rollback.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Credit Risk and Data Science.
