Encargado de Cubicación y Control de Costos

About the role

The Cost Estimation and Control Officer is responsible for the financial oversight of construction projects. The role ensures timely certification of work quantities (cubicaciones) according to the schedule and budget, while monitoring additional activities to guarantee accurate valuation, cost control, and project profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and validate unit prices for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment, maintaining an up‑to‑date market cost database.
• Conduct site visits to verify that work execution aligns with the defined scope.
• Generate detailed certifications based on drawings, schedule, and actual progress.
• Calculate cubicaciones for subcontractor‑executed work.
• Document change orders, variations, and extra quantities to ensure timely certification.
• Maintain all documentation required for client certifications, including activity mappings, calculation memos, supporting documents, technical sheets, photos, warranties, etc.
• Communicate with the project team regarding approvals, additional needs, and potential risks.
• Assist in preparing monthly economic closures for the project.
• Store all project‑related information in a centralized, up‑to‑date repository to guarantee traceability, security, and easy access.

Required profile

• University or technical degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Presto estimation software.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using Bluebeam for document management and markup.
