Dominican Summer League Athletic Trainer

About the role

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2027 Dominican Summer League season. Based at the Tigers Dominican Academy in San Pedro de Macorís, the role supports player health during spring training, the regular season, instructional league, and winter program, with occasional travel to Lakeland, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for DSL players.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the EMR system and ensure a clean, sterilized training environment.
• Communicate daily injury status with the International Medical Coordinator, MiLB Medical Coordinator, physicians, and coaching staff.
• Assist with follow‑up care for players residing in the Dominican Republic.

Required profile

• Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC) in good standing.
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida.
• CPR/AED certified.
• Previous baseball experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of sterilization and sanitation standards for athletic training facilities.
