Dominican Summer League Athletic Trainer

About the role

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2027 Dominican Summer League season. This full‑time role is based at the Tigers Dominican Academy in San Pedro de Macorís, with occasional travel to Lakeland, FL for Spring Training and club events.

Key responsibilities

• Provide care and management of injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Keep the athletic training room clean and organized, following current sterilization standards.
• Communicate daily with the International Medical Coordinator, MiLB Medical Coordinator, physicians, and coaching staff about player injury status.
• Assist with follow‑up care for DSL players and other athletes residing in the Dominican Republic.

Required profile

• Certified Athletic Trainer through the NATA Board of Certification, in good standing.
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, in good standing.
• CPR/AED certified.
• Previous baseball experience preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
