About the role

The Cayo Levantado Resort, a Four‑Star Forbes Travel Guide property located on the pristine island of Cayo Levantado, seeks a senior HR leader to shape and execute its human‑resources strategy. Reporting to the executive committee, the Director of Human Resources will ensure the resort attracts, develops, motivates, and retains talent that upholds the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the annual HR strategy aligned with the resort’s business objectives.
• Participate in the executive committee, providing insights on employee climate, turnover, absenteeism, and performance.
• Oversee payroll, compensation, benefits, uniforms, meals, transportation, and related employee programs.
• Lead compensation studies, incentive policies, and recognition programs.
• Manage occupational health and safety policies, ensuring safe work environments.
• Coordinate health, wellness, and quality‑of‑life campaigns for staff.
• Ensure compliance with Dominican labor legislation and internal policies.
• Handle labor‑relations, collective bargaining (if applicable), conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Drive recruitment, training, development, internal communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Analyze HR metrics and develop action plans to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Tourism, Hospitality or a related field; Master’s degree in HR or Talent Management is desirable.
• 4‑5 years of senior HR experience, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Proven leadership of HR teams and experience with payroll, labor relations, recruitment, and organizational development.
• Willingness to work on-site in Samaná / Cayo Levantado.
