Continuous Improvement Assistant

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Assistant supports the plant’s Lean and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with production lines, engineers and leadership, the role helps maintain, track and enhance improvement systems, ensuring they operate smoothly and deliver measurable results.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the continuous improvement system up‑to‑date and ensure its proper functioning.
• Schedule and follow up on participative improvement activities, collect results and measure system and personnel performance.
• Prepare reports on 5S audits, standard work, Gemba walks, CI Action Tracker, and award program outcomes, and share them with production lines.
• Maintain Lean documentation, support Kaizen projects, and facilitate Kaizen workshops.
• Assist leadership with Value Stream Mapping documentation and data collection.
• Monitor progress of Lean implementation plans and support cost‑reduction projects.
• Place purchase orders to keep Lean material inventory current and manage Kanban cards in Mapics.
• Provide ongoing training on Lean tools and ensure compliance with EHS and safety standards.

Required profile

• University student in Engineering, Business Administration or related field with at least 120 approved credits.
• Minimum six months of experience in operational support or administrative assistance (internships accepted).
• Basic English proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (essential) and MS Office 365.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma basics.
• Experience with Kanban systems (Mapics) is a plus.
