About the role

The Cooperative Accountant is responsible for managing member financial updates and ensuring accurate discount processing within the cooperative's payroll system. This role acts as a liaison between the payroll, accounts receivable, and member services departments. The incumbent will also provide advisory support to members regarding their accounts and loan discounts.

Key responsibilities

• Send member updates (income, exits, savings modifications) to the payroll department for discount processing.
• Provide the accounts receivable department with lists of new loans to discount and loans to deschedule due to balance issues.
• Apply savings and loan discounts to member accounts through the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Offer advisory assistance to cooperative members on their financial status and discount options.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of member transactions in the accounting system.
• Coordinate with payroll and accounts receivable teams to guarantee timely processing of discounts.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting within a cooperative or similar member‑based organization.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and loan discount procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with members and internal departments.
