Buyer II

About the role

The Buyer II is responsible for managing MRP to ensure material supply matches demand while supporting cost optimisation across strategic materials. This role works closely with customers, the Purchasing Manager and SCM to develop supply‑base strategies and deliver customised solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage supply‑base and supply‑chain strategies for strategic materials.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and SCM to determine the best approach to meet customer needs.
• Conduct supplier audits, certifications and performance reviews to continuously improve the supply base.
• Quote new and existing materials, negotiate terms and conditions, and drive cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Analyze component purchase prices and optimise Materials Price Variance (MPV) and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).

Required profile

• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, percentages, ratios and interpret graphs.
• Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency with personal computers, Windows operating system and Jabil software packages.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information to managers, clients and suppliers.

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills, including Windows OS.
• Familiarity with Jabil’s internal software tools for procurement and quoting.
