Buyer – Center of Excellence

About the role

The SCM Center of Excellence in Santo Domingo is looking for a Buyer to support Eaton manufacturing plants and other locations across the Americas. The role focuses on operational procurement, ensuring material availability and supplier stability.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials in line with plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM).
• Generate purchase orders (POs) based on demand requirements and coordinate with network schedulers.
• Work closely with suppliers to guarantee on‑time delivery and manage exceptions such as postponements, cancellations, or anticipations.
• Resolve internal discrepancies and external supplier issues, including delivery problems, claims, and quality concerns.
• Collaborate with logistics partners, monitor supply performance (SOTD), and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain inventory levels, support RMA processes, and manage supplier invoice holds for timely payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in purchasing or similar procurement roles.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Strong analytical mindset, proactive attitude, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of SAP MM.
• Experience with Mapics, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
