Buyer – Center of Excellence (COE) – Procurement

About the role

The Buyer COE will support Eaton manufacturing plants and other locations across the Americas by handling operational procurement activities from the Center of Excellence. The role focuses on ensuring material availability, supplier stability and compliance with plant and corporate regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials in line with plant and corporate QA/SCM regulations.
• Generate purchase orders based on demand requirements and coordinate with network schedulers.
• Communicate material requirements, process requisitions and provide POs to suppliers.
• Work closely with suppliers to guarantee on‑time delivery and manage exceptions such as postponements, cancellations or anticipations.
• Resolve internal discrepancies and external issues (delivery delays, quality claims, invoice holds).
• Collaborate with logistics partners and manage material delivery according to Incoterms.
• Monitor supplier performance (SOTD) and drive corrective actions with category managers.
• Maintain inventory levels, support RMA processes and coordinate with Supplier Quality.
• Maintain purchasing data (price, lead time, MOQ, sourcing) in partnership with Data Health and Commodity teams.
• Utilize digital SCM tools to improve efficiency and share best practices across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a similar procurement or purchasing role.
• Strong knowledge of SAP MM, Mapics, Oracle and advanced MS Office skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and maintain high accuracy.
• Proactive, continuous‑improvement mindset and effective communication skills.
