Bilingual Medical Interpreter Spanish/English (Remote)

About the role

I-Call International is hiring Spanish interpreters to work remotely as consecutive medical interpreters. Your main task is to facilitate communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately interpret medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments and other information between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses and other medical staff.
• Provide cultural mediation so patients understand the healthcare system and so providers understand cultural differences that may affect patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow ethical standards in the interpretation profession.
• Document interpretation services, including date, time, duration and type.
• Keep up to date with medical terminology and healthcare practices.

Required profile

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Experience in interpretation or translation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with the healthcare system.
• Good communication skills, cultural sensitivity and the ability to work well under pressure.

Technical requirements

• Download and upload speed of 10Mbps or 20Mbps; latency under 150ms.
• USB wired headset (no RGB), boom microphone and noise cancellation (grey/black recommended but not compulsory).
• PC with Core i3 10th/Core i5 6th/Core i7 4th generation or above, minimum 8GB RAM, LAN (Ethernet) connection and HD webcam.
• No tablet, iPad or Chromebook.
• A gray background is required after the final assessment is cleared.

What we offer

• Flexible schedule between 9am and 7pm EST, Monday to Friday, depending on client requests.
• Pay of 6 USD per hour on dedicated shifts.
