Athletic Trainer – Dominican Academy

About the role

The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking an Athletic Trainer to join their Dominican Academy in Santo Domingo. The role focuses on the health and wellbeing of athletes, providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation while collaborating with a multidisciplinary performance team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prevention, evaluation, care, and treatment of athletic injuries.
• Maintain an efficient athletic training room and thorough EMR records.
• Communicate proactively with the Latin America Medical Coordinator and other staff regarding injury updates and player availability.
• Coordinate medical appointments and support the local physician network.
• Assist with off‑season player outreach and follow‑up.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate in Spanish.
• Commitment to trust, empathy, humility, and respect.
• Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
• Current CPR and AED certifications.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Major League Baseball’s Electronic Medical Record System (Athlete RMS) or willingness to learn EMR best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
