Area Travel Manager

About the role

The Area Travel Manager oversees all corporate, missionary and General Authority travel as well as the vehicle fleet for a large religious organization. The role ensures safe, timely and cost‑effective travel while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and coach travel supervisors, agents and fleet personnel, ensuring high‑quality service and adherence to policies.
• Manage compliance for travelers’ legal status, handling passports, visas and government relations.
• Develop and monitor quality‑assurance programs to secure best pricing and service while following accounting policies.
• Coordinate travel issues across offices, provide emergency support for stranded travelers or lost luggage.
• Oversee fleet planning, vehicle acquisition, driver certification, maintenance, repairs and vehicle disposition.
• Promote use of global and local vehicle contracts and ensure vehicle registration compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Automotive Technology, Travel & Tourism or related field.
• Minimum six years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Strong public‑relations, managerial and organizational abilities in a high‑stress environment.
• Ability to travel as required and work effectively within a church‑controlled setting.
• Bilingual capability is strongly preferred.
