Application Engineer – HVAC Equipment Specialist

About the role

Join Trane Technologies in the Dominican Republic as an Application Engineer, focusing on the equipment portion of HVAC projects. You will validate equipment selections, manage pricing and discounts, and ensure project budgets are met while supporting sustainable climate solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize and validate HVAC equipment size, configuration, voltage, and options by reviewing plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, evaluate potential cost issues, and prepare equipment cost breakdowns.
• Develop and manage preliminary and final submittals, lead job‑cost consensus meetings, and adjust submittals as needed.
• Negotiate prices with vendors, maintain competitive advantage, and stay current with industry trends.
• Provide technical support during equipment installation, start‑up, warranty service, and controls integration.

Required profile

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years (or up to 5 years) of HVAC industry experience in project management or estimating.
• Strong familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature control concepts.
