AEM Backend Developer (Remote)

About the role

Join Nortal as an AEM Backend Developer and work remotely with a LATAM‑focused team. You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross‑functional groups to design and deliver high‑quality backend solutions on Adobe Experience Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement custom AEM backend components such as OSGi bundles, Sling Models, Sling Servlets, and workflow modules.
• Build and maintain content structures using JCR/Oak, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, and DAM integrations.
• Create and optimise HTL (Sightly) templates in partnership with frontend teams.
• Integrate AEM with external systems via RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate on solution design, produce technical documentation, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Maven and Cloud Manager.
• Debug, profile, and optimise performance at component, page, and infrastructure levels.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate delivery status, risks, and blockers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing on Adobe Experience Manager.
• Strong understanding of Java‑based backend development and Agile methodologies.
