Accounting Officer – Reconciliation & IEP

About the role

The Accounting Officer – Reconciliation & IEP supports the Operations & Corporate Services team by executing reconciliation, item and exception processing, garnishments and project initiatives. The role ensures compliance with regulations, internal policies and delivers high‑quality service to internal and external clients.

Key responsibilities

• Customer Experience – deliver best‑in‑class service, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of processes and systems, meet SLA commitments and resolve obstacles.
• Operational Effectiveness – complete daily reconciliation activities, identify and escalate trends, support unplanned workload, provide feedback on process improvements and adhere to risk and compliance frameworks.
• Development – understand departmental goals, participate in coaching, communicate with management and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
• Relationship Management – collaborate with business line partners, consult with SSG units and branches to resolve issues, reduce costs and improve services while respecting the bank’s risk appetite.

Required profile

• Strong oral and written communication, active listening and organizational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of bank policies, procedures, regulations and branch services.
• Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and adapt to a changing environment.
• Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or Management (preferred) and at least one year of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pega.
• Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
• Experience with AS400, FFT and IRIS systems.
• Solid LAN/PC operations knowledge.
