Accountant

About the role

The Accountant works under general supervision and direction, applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, help prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries to reflect transactions correctly in the general ledger.
• Assist in coordinating intercompany balances and consolidating intercompany transactions and reconciliations, including foreign currency accounting.
• Help with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and monthly account analyses.
• Ensure financial statements are accurate in line with GAAP and internal policies.
• Complete standard analyses and variance reports, and assist with P&L fluctuation analysis.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and may assist with tax return preparation.
• Support accounts payable processing and accounts receivable collections with customers, vendors and internal staff.
• Adhere to quality and safety systems and perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in an accounting environment.
• Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office.
