Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Join our team to build production AI that powers smarter workforce decisions for a global HR technology and PEO provider. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer you will develop predictive analytics, generative AI solutions, and end‑to‑end ML pipelines that address complex workforce challenges while shaping responsible AI strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade machine learning and generative AI models.
• Lead the full ML lifecycle from problem framing and data exploration to deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Implement robust model evaluation, calibration, and error‑analysis techniques.
• Collaborate with MLOps and platform engineers to ensure scalable, cost‑effective deployments.
• Conduct fairness and disparate impact analyses for employment‑related models.
• Provide technical guidance, review code, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in machine learning, applied data science, or related fields, including post‑launch production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models, prompting, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval‑augmented generation.
• Proficiency in forecasting, time‑series, NLP, or document understanding techniques.
• Experience partnering with MLOps teams and familiarity with Git, containers, and CI pipelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for explaining model limitations.

Required skills

• Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, and a deep‑learning/transformer library such as PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• SQL and production‑grade Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouse) with Snowpark or equivalent.
• Large language model application: prompting, structured outputs, embeddings, vector search, RAG.
• Forecasting/time‑series methods, NLP, document understanding.
• Fairness and disparate impact analysis for HR‑related models.
• Git, containerization (Docker), continuous integration.
