Senior FreeCAD Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating and refining detailed parametric CAD models that meet project specifications while ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project requirements.
• Develop and optimise mechanical assemblies, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to guarantee manufacturability and high‑quality output.
• Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Use Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with the project team, providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design or a related field with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to generate comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills for remote, project‑based work.
