Information Systems Assistant

About the role

The Information Systems Assistant will join the Field Technology Section of the United Nations Support Office in Haiti, based in Santo Domingo. This temporary full‑time role provides first‑line ICT support to mission personnel and assists with the administration of hardware, software and network services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for ICT incidents and service requests, logging and tracking them through the organization’s ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, mobile device and connectivity issues both remotely and on‑site.
• Install, configure, maintain and repair desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, audiovisual equipment and other peripherals.
• Support the installation, configuration and upkeep of Microsoft Windows, macOS and mobile operating systems, as well as standard enterprise applications.
• Perform account administration tasks such as password resets, user provisioning and access permission management.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of LAN, Wi‑Fi, WAN and internet connectivity, including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP issues.
• Escalate complex incidents to specialized ICT staff or external vendors while monitoring resolution progress.

Required profile

• Report to the Chief of Section, P5 or a designated officer.
• Temporary full‑time position located in Santo Domingo.

Required skills

• Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, macOS and mobile operating system support.
• Hardware troubleshooting for PCs, laptops, printers, scanners and audiovisual equipment.
• Network troubleshooting skills covering LAN, Wi‑Fi, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Account administration including password resets and user provisioning.
