About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Language Arts (ELA) teacher for our high‑school program at Colegio Bilingüe New Horizons. The position involves planning, delivering, and assessing the English curriculum while supporting students’ academic and socio‑emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan lessons in advance, send plans to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator, and prepare necessary classroom materials.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date grade book, enter grades on schedule, and design monthly assessments for each topic.
• Grade all assigned work, keep the classroom decorated with relevant materials, and supervise playground duties.
• Collaborate with the Psychology Department to support students with academic, behavioral, or special‑needs issues, including gifted learners.
• Attend meetings with teachers, coordinators, assistant principals, institutional workshops, parent meetings, and special school activities.
• Organize community‑service projects, fundraising activities, fairs, and other student events.
• Record daily attendance, manage portfolio assignments, monitor the Homework Board, and encourage student participation in sub‑committees.
• Promote open communication with students and parents, refer emotional or family issues to the psychologist, and adhere to school uniform and policy requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).

Required skills

• Proficiency in digital tools.
• Intermediate‑level Microsoft Office skills.
