English Second Language Teacher

About the role

This part‑time position is based on‑site in Santo Domingo, where the teacher will deliver engaging English lessons to learners of varying proficiency levels. The role emphasizes interactive methodology, intercultural content, and continuous assessment to support language acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver English lessons using appropriate methodologies and resources.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and keep accurate attendance and performance records.
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that integrates intercultural content.
• Collaborate with colleagues and academic staff to align with program objectives.
• Participate in training sessions, staff meetings and occasional institutional events promoting language learning and cultural exchange.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or equivalent) with strong communication skills.
• Relevant teaching certification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) and/or a degree in Education, Languages or a related field.
• Experience teaching English to diverse age groups and proficiency levels, preferably in a classroom setting.
• Ability to create inclusive, learner‑centered lessons without using the students' mother tongue.
• Strong organizational skills, punctuality and a commitment to professional ethics and continuous development.
