Upper School Social Studies Teacher

About the role

Saint George School seeks Upper School Social Studies Teachers to deliver rigorous, inquiry‑based instruction for IGCSE and IB programmes. Teachers will create inclusive, dynamic classrooms that foster student agency, critical thinking and global awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging, student‑centered lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB curricula.
• Use inquiry‑based and active learning strategies to develop critical thinking, creativity and problem‑solving skills.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including ELLs and students with accommodations.
• Assess student progress using standards‑based evaluation and data‑informed instruction.
• Collaborate with content specialists, instructional coaches and colleagues to refine best practices.

• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional growth, coaching cycles and peer observations.

Required skills
