Senior Web Designer, Design Systems (Remote, Santo Domingo)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for clients across the US. As Senior Web Designer, Design Systems you own how client design systems are built, turning brand references into a working system of tokens, variables, modes, and core components that a build pipeline can execute without questions. Precision is the job.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different, with the same structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing for the web, with real design system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout, and variants.
• Experience creating actual architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio showing varied client work while maintaining rigorous design system methodology.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to overlap with US business hours.
