Senior Mechanical Engineer – Medical Devices

About the role

ARJO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of medical devices in the Patient Handling and Product Injury Prevention categories. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production and sustainment, ensuring high performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop, and verify mechanical subsystem requirements.
• Design mechanical components and systems, selecting appropriate materials and parts.
• Conduct risk analysis, specify risk controls, and document findings.
• Develop, test, and document designs using CAD tools and bench testing.
• Apply Design‑for‑X principles to improve performance, cost, and value.
• Support product launch, transfer to manufacturing, and ongoing lifecycle updates.
• Analyze change requests, CAPAs, and product issues, implementing design changes as needed.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design and product development experience in a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of design control processes, quality systems, and relevant standards.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Analytical mindset with structured problem‑solving skills.
