Python Software Engineer (Remote)

About the role

An established American HR technology provider is hiring a Python Software Engineer to build scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs. The position is full-time, day shift with weekends off, and fully remote, with work-from-home flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new application features and maintain existing code, tests and functionality using well-structured Python and established design patterns.
• Design, develop and implement enterprise-scale software solutions and translate business requirements and data models into scalable architectures.
• Integrate and maintain connections with third-party RESTful APIs and connect applications with other products and IT infrastructure.
• Write unit and integration tests, evaluate performance and reliability, and carry out code reviews.
• Keep up with new technologies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of software engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of production-level Python development with modern web frameworks such as Django, FastAPI or Flask.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• RESTful API design, development and integration.
• Relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Background job processing and task queues such as Celery.
• Automated testing frameworks such as pytest.
• Git and GitHub; HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
• Preferred: React and TypeScript, and AWS deployment experience.
