Platform Engineer

About the role

Origami Risk is looking for a Platform Engineer to own the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of our AWS network infrastructure. You will ensure high availability, peak performance, and robust security for our client‑facing services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AWS networking components such as VPCs, subnets, route tables, internet/NAT gateways, VPC peering, and Transit Gateways across multi‑account, multi‑region environments.
• Implement hybrid connectivity solutions including AWS Direct Connect and Site‑to‑Site VPN to provide low‑latency links between AWS and on‑premises or partner networks.
• Develop and enforce network segmentation and least‑privilege policies, managing traffic flow between services, environments, and external systems.
• Architect DNS solutions with Amazon Route 53, including private hosted zones, resolver endpoints, and traffic‑routing policies for high availability.
• Configure content delivery and load distribution using CloudFront, ALB/NLB, and Global Accelerator to guarantee low latency and high throughput.
• Manage IP address allocation (IPAM) to ensure scalable, non‑overlapping CIDR blocks across regions.
• Define and maintain network security controls using Security Groups, Network ACLs, AWS Network Firewall, AWS WAF, and AWS Shield, conducting regular assessments and incident response.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating large‑scale AWS networking environments.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, zero‑trust principles, and network monitoring.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with security and development teams.
